Aims & Scope

Biobreeding is an international journal dedicated to advancing the application of genetics, genomics, and biotechnology in Grain crops, Cash crops, Horticultural crops, Livestock, Poultry, Aquatic animals, and Microorganism improvement. The journal publishes high-impact research and reviews that integrate theoretical innovation with experimental validation, emphasizing practical solutions for modern breeding challenges.

We welcome studies on major crops, including Grain crops, Cash crops, Horticultural crops, Livestock, Poultry, Aquatic animals, and Microorganisms species. Key areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
  • Molecular Breeding
       Marker-assisted selection and genomic prediction
Genome editing technologies (e.g., CRISPR systems)
       Genomic and genomic selection
  • Genetic and Genomic Insights
       Trait dissection and functional genomics
       Evolutionary genetics and comparative genomics
Multi-omics integration (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) in relation to phenotypes
Molecular basis of economically important traits
  • Biotechnological Tools
High-throughput phenotyping /phenomics theories and mMethods
       Synthetic biology applications in breeding
       Omics-driven breeding strategy development
  • Breeding Strategies and Programs
Design and implementation of crop breeding programs
Livestock and poultry breeding scheme optimization
       Breeding strategy evaluation and improvement
  • Sustainable Agriculture
       Developing climate-resilient varieties and breeds
       Biofortification approaches for nutritional enhancement
       Biotic/abiotic stress resistance mechanisms.

Preference is given to studies with strong genetic foundations, methodological novelty, and clear translational value for breeding programs. Biobreeding serves as a platform for cutting-edge research that bridges scientific discovery with real-world agricultural applications.
