Aims & Scope

Journal of Watershed Ecology aims to establish a common academic platform with a watershed perspective for ecologists and practitioners dedicated to watershed sustainability worldwide.

Watersheds represent natural ecological units, and watershed ecology is an integrative science focused on achieving watershed sustainability. It encompasses all branches of ecology, along with multidisciplinary and emerging fields related to ecological science. The scope of Journal of Watershed Ecology is as broad as ecology itself, covering all watershed-relevant topics.

The journal particularly welcomes:

  • Empirical studies adopting the watershed as a fundamental unit and scale;
  • Theoretical explorations from a watershed perspective;
  • Novel viewpoints and methodologies that advance the science of watershed ecology.
The Journal of Watershed Ecology is an open-access, rapid-publication platform focused on advances in the science, policy, and methodology of watershed ecology.
