Aims & Scope

Aim
Advanced Neuroscience is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that provides a premier international platform for groundbreaking research across all disciplines of neuroscience. Our primary objective is to advance understanding of the nervous system from molecular foundations to complex cognition and to bridge the gap between fundamental neurobiology and clinical application. We seek to address the most critical challenges in neurology and neurodegenerative diseases.

Scope
The journal invites submissions of high-quality original research articles, in-depth review papers, innovative commentaries, rigorous perspectives, and correspondence, on topics including but not limited to the following:
  • Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience: Cell biology, synaptic transmission, signal transduction, and epigenetics.
  • Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience: Neural substrates of learning, memory, attention, decision-making, emotion, and social behavior.
  • Developmental Neuroscience and Plasticity: Neural development, axon guidance, neurogenesis, adult plasticity/regeneration.
  • Brain Aging and Brain Energy Metabolism: Age-related metabolic dysfunction, effective interventions against age-related neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Neuropharmacology and Neurochemistry: Drug mechanisms, neurotransmitter systems, and receptors signaling.
  • Translational and Clinical Neuroscience: Neurodegenerative diseases, neurodevelopmental disorders, mood/anxiety disorders, addiction, epilepsy, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neuro-oncology.
  • Systems and Circuits: Circuit architecture, network dynamics, sensory/motor systems, and neural coding.
  • Computational and Theoretical Neuroscience: Neural modeling, connectomics, and machine learning approaches to brain data.
  • Integrative Neuroscience: Multidisciplinary approaches and Neuroinformatics.
Beyond traditional research, we actively encourage research in neuroscience related to materials science, interdisciplinary approaches, and translational research. Investigations that coherently link molecular processes to emergent behavioral outcomes across multiple levels of analysis are also strongly welcomed.

We adhere to rigorous peer-review standards and champion open-science principles, facilitating the rapid, transparent dissemination of reproducible research that propels the field forward.
