All articles published in Synthetic Biology and Engineering are in open access model, which will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy and distribute under an open access Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license.

For all articles published in SCIEPublish journals, copyright is retained by the authors. In addition, the article may be reused and quoted provided that the original published version is cited. These conditions allow for maximum use and exposure of the work, while ensuring that the authors receive proper credit.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

Synthetic Biology and Engineering is an open access journal supported by article processing charges (APCs), which needs to be paid by the authors or by their research funder or institution. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for this journal is $500, plus VAT, to cover its editorial and production costs. To all papers submitted before the 31 December 2024, APC would be fully waived from authors. There are no additional charges based on color, length, figures, or other items.
